About The Counselor
Dr. Kirk is the owner and operator of LCK Counseling Services located in Nashville and Smyrna, TN. She has over a decade of clinical experience working with adolescents, adults, and the geriatric population. Before moving into private practice, Dr. Kirk worked in various mental health settings, including emergency psychiatric care, residential treatment, and outpatient counseling. She has served individuals who are experiencing active suicidal ideations, active psychosis, and individuals who are detoxing from alcohol and drugs.
Lois earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Counseling: Teaching and Supervision from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee. She also earned a B.S. in Psychology and M.S. in Counseling Psychology from Tennessee State University, also located in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Kirk is a Licensed Professional Counselor Mental Health Service Provider (LPC-MHSP) license for the State of Tennessee. She is also a National Certified Counselor through the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC), a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional, and a Level II trained eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) counselor.
Dr. Kirk strives to empower clients to discover their authentic self and grow their confidence to achieve change and meet their goals. She takes a holistic approach to counseling, focusing on the mind, body, and spirit. Dr. Kirk helps clients learn to cope with life's challenges and uses an integrative an approach (CBT, ERP, EMDR) to meet the unique needs of each client.
